Dodgers Farm: Diego Cartaya starting to heat up.

MILB

Dodgers Affiliate Tulsa Drillers number 8 ranked C Diego Cartaya is showing signs of getting his swing back. The month of May has looked good for Cartaya and his offense. Diego is making good bat to ball contact and showing off some power in his last three games.

Dodgers

Since signing with the Dodgers in 2018, Diego has worked really hard on his game calling abilities and framing. Diego is one of the most consistent and accurate game callers in the game and has a strong arm that goes with his .989 FPCT.

2021 and 2022 were big offensive seasons for Cartaya. 2021, Diego 34H / 10HR / 31RBI / 18BB / .298AVG / .409OBP / .614SLG / 1.023OPS with Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. 2022 Cartaya was moved up to the Dodgers Affiliate High-A Great Lake Loons where he had 92H / 22HR / 72RBI / 63BB / .254AVG / .389OBP / .503SLG /.892OPS.

Since being moved up to the Dodgers Affiliate Double-A Tulsa Drillers in 2023, Diego’s offensive numbers have dropped. Cartaya was dealing with nagging back injuries that kept him out of Spring Training and put him on the injured list in August.

Tulsa Drillers X

2024 is looking good for Cartaya, he looks healthy and after a slow start his offense is starting to pick up. So far in the first 10 games in May, Diego has 1 Double / 3HR / 7RBI / 6BB / .242AVG / .390OBP / .545SLG. Tulsa has 102 games left in the season and if 22-year-old Diego Cartaya can keep healthy, keep his bat to ball contact consistent, and get his power back, Diego will have a good bounce back year with the Tulsa Drillers.
