Dodgers Farm: Dodgers Prospect Emil Morales Showing Promise in Arizona Complex League

Emil Morales, a promising shortstop in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, has been making his mark in the 2025 Arizona Complex League (ACL). The 18-year-old, born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, has demonstrated both offensive prowess and solid defense as he continues his development.
Through 55 games with the ACL Dodgers, Morales has put up impressive batting numbers. He holds a .295 batting average over 220 at-bats, accumulating 65 hits including 12 doubles and 3 triples. He’s also shown developing power, hitting 7 home runs and driving in 37 RBIs. Morales has displayed a good eye at the plate, drawing 29 walks, contributing to a .379 on-base percentage (OBP). His slugging percentage (SLG) sits at .473, giving him an overall .852 OPS. He has also stolen 6 bases while being caught 3 times.
Defensively, Morales has spent the majority of his time at shortstop, playing 38 games at the position. In 311.2 innings at shortstop, he has recorded 48 putouts and 85 assists, with 6 errors, resulting in a .957 fielding percentage. He has also appeared in 3 games at third base, where he has accumulated 2 putouts and 5 assists with 1 error in 25 innings, for an .875 fielding percentage. While recognized for his offensive potential, his defensive skills at shortstop are considered above-average, with the possibility of moving to third base as he continues to grow into his 6’3″ frame.
Morales would likely move up to Rancho next season or later in the current season, if his performance continues to warrant it.
