Dodgers Farm: Dodgers Prospects Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope Shine Bright with 2025 All-Star Futures Game Selection

The Los Angeles Dodgers farm system continues to solidify its reputation as one of baseball’s premier talent pipelines, with outfield prospects Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope earning selections to the 2025 All-Star Futures Game. The announcement, made by Major League Baseball on Monday, June 30, 2025, highlights the duo’s meteoric rise and underscores the Dodgers knack for developing high-upside players. The Futures Game, set for July 12 at Truist Park in Atlanta, will showcase 50 of baseball’s top minor league talents, with De Paula and Hope representing the Dodgers on the National League roster.

Josue De Paula: A Prodigy at the Plate

At just 19 years old, Josue De Paula is already one of the most exciting offensive prospects in the minors. Ranked as the Dodgers’ No. 1 prospect and No. 28 overall by MLB Pipeline, De Paula’s 2024 season demonstrated his advanced approach at the plate. Splitting time between Low-A Rancho Cucamonga and High-A Great Lakes, he posted a .268/.404/.405 slash line, drawing 84 walks (14th in the minors) against 95 strikeouts. His 21.7% walk rate at High-A led to a 136 wRC+, showcasing his elite plate discipline and ability to get on base.

Zyhir Hope: A Breakout Star with Sky-High Potential

Zyhir Hope, the Dodgers No. 2 prospect and No. 38 overall per MLB Pipeline, has emerged as a dynamic talent since being acquired from the Chicago Cubs in a January 2024 trade that also brought pitcher Jackson Ferris to Los Angeles. The 19-year-old outfielder’s 2024 season was a revelation, as he hit .287/.415/.490 with a 144 wRC+ in 54 games at Low-A Rancho Cucamonga before a shoulder injury sidelined him for three months. Despite the setback, Hope’s combination of power, speed, and improved hitting ability has scouts buzzing.

The 2025 All-Star Futures Game, a seven-inning showcase airing live on MLB Network at 4 p.m. ET, will feature 31 of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 prospects, including nine of the top 22. De Paula and Hope, both under 20 years old, join an elite group of young talents, with the Dodgers being one of only a few organizations with multiple representatives. The National League squad, managed by Braves legends Chipper Jones and Marquis Grissom, will face an American League team loaded with prospects like Detroit’s Max Clark and Seattle’s Lazaro Montes.

For De Paula and Hope, the Futures Game is an opportunity to compete against the best of their peers and gain national exposure. Their inclusion reflects not only their individual talent but also the Dodgers organizational strength in player development. Both prospects benefited from the team’s coaching staff, with Hope crediting their guidance for his rapid improvement.

The Dodgers Bright Future

The selection of De Paula and Hope to the Futures Game is a testament to the Dodgers ability to identify and nurture high-ceiling talent. De Paula’s polished bat and Hope’s raw athleticism complement each other, offering a glimpse of the Dodgers outfield of the future. Alongside other top prospects like Dalton Rushing, Jackson Ferris, and Alex Freeland—all of whom were named to Baseball Prospectus’ Top 101 list for 2025—the Dodgers farm system remains a powerhouse despite recent graduations and trades.
