Dodgers Farm: Nick Frasso is one pitcher who could make his Dodgers debut in 2025.

Dodgers Nick Frasso is a 6’5 lanky right-handed pitcher who was a potential first round draft pick coming out of Loyola Marymount before straining his forearm in 2020. Frasso was picked up by the Toronto Blue Jays in the fourth-round of 2020 draft. He spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons in the Blue Jays minor league system before undergoing elbow surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching arm.

In August of 2022, the Los Angeles Dodgers traded RHP Mitch White to the Bule Jays for Nick Frasso. Nick was assigned to the Dodgers Double-A Tulsa Drillers where he pitched 11.2 innings pitched, gave up 12 hits, seven errand runs, one homerun, ten strikeouts, and a 5.40 ERA. In 2023 Frasso started out with Tulsa and was moved up to the Dodgers Triple-A OKC team. Frasso was the best Dodgers prospect in 2023 before tearing his labrum in his pitching shoulder that would require surgery and missing all of the 2024 baseball season.

OKC X

Frasso 2024 Scouting Grades: Fastball: 70 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 55 | Control: 50 | Overall: 50 Frasso’s pitches include a sinker that can reach the upper 90s, a sweeper, and a fastball with a 75-grade on the 20–80 scale. In 2023, he pitched to a 3.77 ERA and struck out 10.4 batters per nine innings in Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Frasso’s fastball ranges from 94-97 mph and tops out at 100 with arm-side run, and the impressive extension he creates enables his heater to get on hitters more quickly than expected. His mid-80s changeup can be a plus pitch at its best, fading and sinking and confusing batters who are trying to sit on his heater. His mid-80s slider has the makings of a solid offering with sweep and depth, though it’s not as reliable as his fastball and changeup.

Tulsa X

Due to his length, Frasso has an extremely deceptive delivery and has a long history of throwing strikes that surprises most batters. For the 2025 season, durability is going to be the big question for Frasso. He has the stuff to become a mid-level rotation starter or a late inning reliever.
