Dodgers Farm: Player to watch, Dodgers #8 prospect Eduardo Quintero.

Eduardo Quintero (CF I Bats R I 6’1 I Age 19) signed with the Dodgers and was one of the thirteen signed in 2023 that included two top twenty-five players. He signed as a promising amateur catcher for $297,500, but the Dodgers had other plans for him. Quintero showed high quality athleticism, with that the Dodgers moved him to center field to display his skills. He was the best 17-year-old performer in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League in his pro debut, batting .359/.472/.618 and starring in the playoffs as his team won the championship.
Quintero was part of the 2024 ACL Dodgers Arizona Complex League Championship where he finished second in on-base percentage, runs, and steals.
Scouting reports – Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 60 | Arm: 60 | Field: 55 | Overall: 50 Quintero is a polished hitter who rarely chases pitches out of the zone and makes consistent contact to all fields. His quick right-handed swing produces high exit velocities for a teenager that could portend 20-homer power, though he’ll need to learn to drive balls in the air to his pull side to get there.
Quintero features at least plus speed and uses it aggressively, stealing 54 bases in 64 attempts in 132 games over his first two years as a pro. His quickness gives him plenty of range in center field, and he could become a plus defender as he continues to acclimate to his new position. His strong arm enables him to fit anywhere in the outfield and has registered 15 assists in 113 pro starts.
Quintero was assigned to the Dodgers Single-A Affiliate Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in August of 2024. Eduardo struggled in making the adjustment after being moved to Rancho last year but has turned things around and is one of the dominate players on a stacked Quakes roster.
Quintero’s 2025 stats – 27G / 107AB / 29R / 32H / 6HR / 16RBI / 18BB / 36SO / 13SB / .299AVG / .406OBP / .561SLG / .967OPS.
Quintero’s has mainly started in center field and has a few starts in right field.
Center Field – 17GS / 148.2INN / 29TC / 29PO / 0E / 1.000FPCT
Right Field – 6GS / 53INN / 5TC / 5PO / 0E / 1.000FPCT
Eduardo is just one of many potential future super-stars in the Dodgers minor league system. He was recently named Minor League Baseball’s California League Player of the Week with his performance in Rancho’s six game series against Arizona Diamondbacks Single-A Rawhide. He had nine hits, five hits for extra bases, six walks, five RBIs, and eight runs.
Quintero continues to make big improvements in 2025 and is one player to watch.
