Dodgers Farm: Reports coming out Diego Cartaya being promoted to Dodgers Triple-A Affiliate OKC.

Lots of talk and reports that Tulsa Drillers Catcher Diego Cartaya being promoted today.

Dodgers

After reviewing minor league transactions page, Tulsa Drillers has “Unknown or Undisclosed assigned to OKC” on their MILB page. With no player name assigned, one can think the reports of Diego Cartaya being promoted to OKC could be true. Cartaya signed a free agent minor league contract with the Dodgers in 2018. He played for DSL Dodgers Bautista in the Dominican Republic and was considered to be a highly ranked catcher. Diego is a 6’3 catcher who has dealt with injuries and continues to perfect his craft of “framing” while being in the minors.

Cartaya has had a power bat and showing signs of being the hitter the Dodgers are looking for, but injuries to the back have brought Cartaya’s numbers down the past two seasons. His current career numbers are as follows: 283H / 58 doubles / 60HR / 209RBI / .347OBP / .448SLG / .795OPS Fielding: 2539PO / 187A / 23E / .991FLD% / 11.38 RF/9 / 10.75 RF/G.

The Dodgers #7 top prospect will be a good addition to OKC and maybe a change of scenery will bring that power back to his bat that we are accustomed to seeing.
