Dodgers Farm: Ryan Ward’s Power Surge Carries OKC To One Game Back For The Top Spot In The PCL.

Under a crescent moon in the Las Vegas desert. Oklahoma City Comets played game three of a six game series against the Las Vegas Aviators for the best record in the PCL last night. OKC beat the Aviators 9-3 with Bobby Miller having his best start of the season and Ryan Wards offensive dominance.
Ryan Ward put the team on his back and played the game of his life. Ward went 5-5 at the plate, hit two singles, crushed three home runs, and had 6 RBIs for the night. Ward who will be a free agent at the end of the season has the all-time home run (66) and RBI (236) record since OKC moved to the Bricktown.
Bobby Miller kept the Aviators high powered offense scoreless for five innings before Coach Hennessey pulled him so Michael Kopech can get some rehab work in. Miller had his best start of the season with 69P / 44S / 5.2IP / 2H / 0ER / 1BB / 4K. Miller retired 13 straight and 15 of 16 and had thrown just 69 pitches. In his last two starts Miller has 11.2 scoreless innings.
Michael Kopech made another rehab appearance. His fastball reached 99 mph, and his command look a lot better. His line for the night 8P / 6S / 0.1IP / 1H / 0ER / 0BB / 1K. We will have to wait on the Dodgers front office to see how many more rehab assignments Kopech will need before returning to LA.
Edgardo Enriquez made his first rehab start since going on the IL during spring training. Enriquez mostly threw fastballs and mixed in a few sliders. His fastball topped out at 101 mph and averaged 100 mph. Not surprising that his command was off and will need a good work up before returning to the Dodgers bullpen. His line for the night 24P / 14S / 0.2IP / 1H / 1ER / 2BB / 1K.
