Dodgers Affiliate Double-A Tulsa Drillers announced today the promotion of Patrick Copen. 23-year-old Copen started the season with High-A Great Loons and was considered the ace of the team.
Copen was named Midwest League pitcher of the month in May with a 1.59ERA / 44K in 28.1 innings pitched. He led all of High-A pitchers with 77 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .135 batting average. In the month of May, Copen has three starts with double digit strikeouts and has pitch into the seventh inning.

Tulsa pitching has been a bit of a struggle this year and with the promotion of Patrick Copen, they should have a reliable arm that can strikeout batters. Copen will get his first start tonight at ONEOK Field; game can be seen on MILB TV with first pitch at 7:00 PM CDT.
