Justin Wrobleski is a 23-year-old 6’1 left-handed pitcher Dodger fans should keep an eye on. The #14 ranked Dodgers prospect has posted a 1.23ERA in his last four starts with Dodgers Affiliate Double-A Tulsa Drillers. Since coming up to Tulsa, Wrobleski has a 5-2 record / 67.2IP / 62SO / 3.06ERA / 1.03WHIP.
Wrobleski was first drafted in the 36th round out of high school by the Seattle Mariners. While playing for Oklahoma State, Wrobleski was drafted in the 11th round 2021 MLB Amateur Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He started his professional career in August of 2022 with Dodgers Single-A Affiliate Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Wrobleski was quickly promoted to the Great Lake Loons in April of 2023 and after a full season with the Loons, he was promoted to Dodgers Affiliate Double-A Tulsa Drillers the start of the 2024 season.
Breaking down his pitching abilities: Wrobleski could be the most polished Dodgers top lefty pitching prospect. After coming back from elbow reconstruction, Wrobleski has a 93-96 mph heater that reaches 98 with arm side run and carry. He has a solid mid-80s slider with two-plane depth that he can turn into either a low-80s curveball with more break or a tighter upper-80s cutter. His mid-80s changeup is a reliable third offering with fade and sink. Scouting grades for his pitch mix: Fastball: 55 | Curveball: 50 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 50 | Overall: 45.
Those of us who follow Dodgers minor league baseball think Justin Wrobleski could be brought up to the Dodgers to make his debut before the start of the playoff season. Wrobleski has been mentioned many times in trade scenarios by insiders, it is my opinion Justin Wrobleski should be untouchable being the top left-handed pitcher in the Dodgers minor league farm system.
