Dodgers Farm: Zyhir Hope Emerging as One of the Dodgers’ Most Exciting Breakout Prospects

Like fellow Dodgers prospect Josue De Paula, outfielder Zyhir Hope is quickly making a name for himself in the minors as the 2025 season gets underway.

In his latest outing, Hope launched a go-ahead home run to right field in the ninth inning, a blast that nearly cleared the entire ballpark, with an exit velocity of 109 mph.

The 20-year-old was acquired from the Cubs in the 2024 deal that sent Michael Busch to Chicago. While top-100 prospect Jackson Ferris also came over in the trade, it’s Hope who has been making headlines with his early-season performances.

Hope showcased signs of stardom during spring training with highlight-reel catches and displays of raw power potential. Now, his explosive athleticism and talent for big moments have positioned him as one of the most intriguing players in the Dodgers’ system.

An 11th-round pick out of Colonial Forge High School, Hope hit .290 with a .419 on-base percentage and a .903 OPS across 62 games last season between Rookie ball and High-A.

Now with the High-A Great Lakes Loons, he is off to another strong start. Through 29 games, Hope is slashing .282 with five home runs and an .886 OPS. He currently leads the Midwest League in total bases with 57.

If Hope continues to refine his tools and build on his power surge, he could be on a fast track through the Dodgers’ farm system and emerge as one of the organization’s top breakout players this season.
