Dodgers News: Dodgers Announce First Spring Training Roster Cuts at 2026 Camp

LA opens its roster shakeup by sending 11 players to minor league camp.

GLENDALE, AZ—Prior to today’s Cactus League action, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced their first wave of roster cuts, reassigning 11 players to minor league camp.

All of the moves involved non-roster invitees: pitchers Patrick Copen, Luke Fox, Jerming Rosario, Adam Serwinowski, Nick Frasso, and José Rodríguez; catchers Nelson Quiroz and Chuckie Robinson; infielders Keston Hiura and Matt Gorski; and outfielder Chris Newell.

Out of the 11 players, only three appeared in MLB last season: Chuckie Robinson, who played one game with the Dodgers; Matt Gorski, who participated in 15 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates; and Keston Hiura, who appeared in eight games with the Colorado Rockies.

The Dodgers currently have 65 players in big league camp, consisting of 35 pitchers and 30 position players. This number does not include pitcher Evan Phillips and utility player Kiké Hernández, as both are on the 60-day injured list.

How Did These Players Perform This Spring?

Hiura played seven games, including four as the DH, finishing with one hit—a home run—in 13 at-bats, along with three walks.

Serwinowski, acquired from the Reds at last year’s deadline, earned Midwest League Pitcher of the Month in his first month with High-A Great Lakes. The 22-year-old struck out four and walked one over two scoreless, hitless innings this spring.

Copen is coming off a strong 2025 season after losing vision in his right eye the year before, posting a 3.59 ERA with a Dodgers–system–leading 152 strikeouts. With 17 Double-A starts behind him, he’s a candidate to reach Triple-A in 2026. He allowed two runs in two innings in his two Cactus League outings.

Newell appeared in six games over the first nine days of camp, collecting two hits—including a home run—in 11 at-bats.

Frasso, Rodríguez, Robinson, and Gorski had yet to appear in a Cactus League game this spring.
