OAKLAND, CA — In a triumphant first appearance since being traded from the Tigers, Jack Flaherty delivered a stellar performance for the Dodgers, pitching six scoreless innings and leading the team to victory. Flaherty’s composure and effectiveness on the mound were key to securing the win, earning praise from teammates and fans alike.

Reflecting on his successful outing, Flaherty expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Anytime you get a chance to help the team win, that’s kind of all that matters. That’s the important part of it.” This win was particularly meaningful for Flaherty as he adjusted to his new team. He shared, “I’ll take the time tonight and try to soak it all in. I’m just excited to be here and have a chance to help this team.”

Flaherty highlighted the importance of rhythm and collaboration with catcher Will Smith in navigating the opposing lineup. “I think it was just slowly getting into a rhythm. As the game went on, we got into better rhythm, and Will did a really good job of making adjustments and just calling the game,” Flaherty noted. The synergy between pitcher and catcher was evident as they skillfully managed tough spots throughout the game.

The transition period leading up to this game felt lengthy for Flaherty, who was eager to return to the mound. “It felt so long. It was nice to get back out there. I’ve been itching for it. Didn’t know when it was going to be or who it was going to be with,” he recounted. The anticipation made the victory even sweeter, as Flaherty successfully showcased his skills and contributed to the team’s success.

Flaherty’s adaptability and focus were on display as he utilized a curveball-heavy approach, explaining, “I think I just felt good with it. Every game is different, so you never know.” This adaptability, coupled with his disciplined mindset, ensured he remained composed even in high-pressure situations. “It’s always just one pitch at a time. You stay focused and not let your mind wander,” Flaherty emphasized.

In just a short time with the Dodgers, Flaherty is already making a significant impact. His performance not only secured a win but also demonstrated his potential to be a valuable asset to the team moving forward.
