LOS ANGELES, CA — In an exciting win on Tuesday night, Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux played a pivotal role by hitting a two-run double in the first inning. This contribution helped the Dodgers secure their fifth consecutive victory since the break. In a post-game interview, Lux shed light on his recent performance and the team’s momentum.
Lux emphasized the mental adjustments he’s made, which he believes have had a significant impact. “I think a lot of it’s more mental, you know, than physical,” Lux said. “Just trying to be a little more aggressive… Once you get a decent pitch to hit, try to end the at-bat there and move it forward hopefully on the barrel.”
When asked about his recent uptick in hitting the ball harder, Lux credited his aggressive approach. “Yeah, I think just trying not to be safe in everything, you know. Just be more aggressive, try to hit the ball hard and not worry about chasing. Your eyes will tell you if it’s a ball or a strike, and that’s just kind of the approach I’ve gone with.”
The Dodgers have been on a roll since the All-Star break, and Lux attributes this to a much-needed mental reset. “I don’t know, man. I think just everyone, it was a good mental reset. Obviously, I don’t think we finished that week before the break great. So, I think we all just had a nice little reset, and we’re playing good team baseball top to bottom. It’s been fun the last five games. Baseball’s a momentum game, so just try to keep rolling off these wins.”
Lux’s new mindset and aggressive approach have not only improved his performance but also contributed to the Dodgers’ recent success, making them a team to watch in the coming weeks.
