LOS ANGELES, CA — In a post-game interview following his strong performance against the Phillies, Dodgers’ pitcher Tyler Glasnow reflected on his outing where he pitched six innings, gave up three earned runs, and struck out nine. Despite feeling slightly off, Glasnow emphasized the importance of focusing on execution. “I felt a little out of whack, but those are the days you empty your brain and just try to compete,” he said. “The positive today was ignoring how I felt and attacking the zone.”
Glasnow acknowledged the need for improvement but was content with his ability to battle through his discomfort. He noted a conscious effort to avoid predictability in his pitching by incorporating more sliders, a strategy he has been refining recently. “I’ve been getting a little predictable with my fastball and sequencing, so I’m trying to mix it up more,” he explained.
Reflecting on his progression this season, Glasnow recognized his growth in handling challenging outings. “It’s been up and down, but I feel like it’s trending up,” he said. When asked about his evolving role as a key player for the playoffs, he emphasized the importance of maintaining his routine and not getting distracted by external pressures.
Glasnow also appreciated the energized atmosphere of the game and the special moment honoring teammate Freddie Freeman. “It was awesome. He’s such a huge part of our team, and it’s great to have him back,” he concluded.
