LOS ANGELES, CA — Dodgers rookie pitcher Landon Knack delivered an impressive six-inning outing against the Guardians on Friday night, despite the team’s 3-1 loss. Knack’s only mistake came in the form of a fastball that Guardians’ Andres Gimenez turned into a two-run homer, which ultimately decided the game.

Reflecting on his performance, Knack emphasized the importance of seizing every opportunity he gets to showcase his skills. “Every time I go out there, it’s really just trying to do the best I can to put us in a good position to win,” he said. Knack has been working on getting his off-speed pitches in the zone early to set up his fastball, which has been a key to his recent success.

On the fateful home run pitch, Knack admitted he didn’t execute as intended. “I just kind of pulled a fastball a little bit, left it too much over the middle, and he jumped on it.”

Despite the loss, Knack relished the chance to engage in a pitching duel, calling it “fun to be a part of” in the heat of postseason races. As he continues to manage the ups and downs of being called up and sent down, Knack remains focused on staying grounded and taking advantage of each opportunity.
