LOS ANGELES, CA — In a recent interview, Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas shared his excitement about the team’s current hot streak and his contributions to their success. Rojas, who has been a consistent performer all season long, emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum and how his daily efforts have become a good luck charm for the team.
“I just feel like every time I got the opportunity to contribute and now that we got this thing going, you know, I really, really want to get a hit every single day because it feels like it’s good luck for us,” Rojas said. His dedication to getting on base has clearly paid off, as the Dodgers continue to rack up wins.
Reflecting on the performance of pitcher Tyler Glasnow on Saturday, Rojas noted, “He was well needed for this offense, especially after a 13-game stretch that we didn’t have an off day. This one is a good one to end on.” Glasnow’s ability to adapt his pitching strategy, particularly by mixing in more breaking balls, has been a key factor in the team’s recent victories.
Rojas also mentioned a unique superstition among his teammates, linked to his own hitting streak. After going 2-for-4 in Saturday’s win against the Angels, the Dodgers have notched 22 straight wins in games where Rojas gets a hit. At first, it was amusing, but Rojas is starting to buy in a little. “It was first mentioned to me in the series in New York, when we were like 18-0 or something like that. So after that day, it was on my mind,” he revealed. The team’s focus on this streak has grown, with Rojas hoping it can continue to an impressive milestone: “Hopefully we can get to 40-0 or something like that before the season ends.”
Addressing the challenges the team faced earlier in the season, particularly from the bottom half of the batting order, Rojas expressed confidence in their resurgence. He highlighted the contributions of key players stepping up in crucial moments, including Chris Taylor, who until recently has been completely discombobulated at the plate. “The season is so long that everybody’s going to get hot at some point,” he stated.
Looking ahead, Rojas acknowledged the grueling schedule but remained optimistic. “Right now, we’re looking forward to starting a new stretch of gam.es. For sure it was kind of difficult, you know, like going to New York, coming back for four, then hitting the road again. But the good thing is we’re playing good baseball.”
As the Dodgers gear up for the next phase of the season, Rojas’s leadership and consistent performance will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in their continued success.
