Dodgers Interview: Dave Roberts discusses Ice Cube, team buying in, latest on Teoscar Hernández

The Bleed Los Podcast recently caught up with two-time World Series Champion, Los Angeles Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts, at a recent signing event over the weekend, and the skipper gave us numerous updates on Teoscar Hernández, Dodgers offseason, and reflecting on winning the 2024 World Series.

Roberts kicked off the interview by describing the whirlwind of emotions that players and coaches experience after winning a championship. He then stated that the last several weeks had been a world tour for himself, allowing him to spread the Dodgers organization across the globe.

Before this interview, Roberts visited the country of Japan. Roberts, who was born in Naha on Japan’s island of Okinawa, returned to his hometown to accept an honorary award from the city last week after his team won the World Series against the New York Yankees in October. The emotional visit, Roberts’ first in more than two decades, was the ultimate capstone to his championship season, he said.

When reflecting on the Dodgers World Series parade that took place shortly after the conclusion of the 2024 World Series in downtown Los Angeles, he stated that it was the best moment of his life, getting to celebrate with the fans.

Over the last two months, Roberts has gotten his flowers after proving all the doubters wrong this October, getting the players to all buy in and not bow down despite the team’s significant injuries at the end of the season.

When asked by Bleed Los co-host Alysha Del Valle what Dodgers fans can expect for this upcoming season and if the team was going to “run it back,” Roberts insisted that the team would do everything in its power to repeat as World Series Champions.

However, perhaps the most significant piece of Dave Roberts’ answer concerns the Dodgers’ pursuit of Teoscar Hernández, who suggested that things are indeed close.

Teoscar, I love Teo, and so we’re close. I pray for everyone to say your prayers so that we can get it done and get Teo back in Dodger Blue as well.
