LOS ANGELES, CA — In an interview after giving up four runs in three innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Dodgers pitcher Gavin Stone discussed his performance on Wednesday. When asked about managing himself through the outing, he mentioned that his pitch count got high early on. Stone explained, “That was the biggest thing, just executing pitches early in counts.”

Stone noted that he felt good physically but struggled with his command. “Just missing, just adjusting the sides. Got to bring it in a little bit,” he said. Despite feeling off, he remained positive about his physical condition. “Honestly, I felt good, just a little off.”

Stone admitted that he could tell something was off from the first inning. “My arm felt good, but the command wasn’t there completely,” he shared. When asked if this start had any connection to his previous complete game, he clarified, “No, I mean there wasn’t any impact or soreness. I wasn’t thinking anything about that. They’re a good team, they put up great at-bats.”

He concluded by emphasizing the need to move on from this outing. “You just got to forget about it and watch the next game,” Stone said, showing his readiness to bounce back from this challenging performance.
