LOS ANGELES, CA — Dodgers’ outfielder Teoscar Hernandez played a pivotal role in the team’s win over the Giants on Monday night, driving in all three of the Dodgers’ runs. After the game, Hernandez discussed his approach and what has been working for him offensively.

“I tried to get the ball in the air more,” Hernandez explained. “Before the break, I was getting a lot of hits, but they were on the ground. My extra-base hits were missing. I just try to have good at-bats, look for the pitches I want, and make adjustments between at-bats.”

Hernandez’s go-ahead hit in the eighth inning was a highlight of the game. “It’s huge every time you get ahead or make a play,” he said. “Whether it’s at bat or in the outfield, it’s exciting. That’s what we play for.”

Hernandez has been particularly effective with runners in scoring position, tallying 27 RBIs with two outs this season. “At the beginning of the season, I wasn’t really good in those situations because I was trying to do too much,” he admitted. “Now, I have a plan and stick to it, even if I don’t get the job done.”

Reflecting on his big game, Hernandez remained humble about his contributions. “Today, it was me, but tomorrow it might be another guy,” he said. “I’m just there trying to do my job. I had the opportunity three times to tie the game, then go ahead, and then go ahead again. I’m just glad I hit it.”

Hernandez also praised rookie pitcher River Ryan, who made his major league debut. “Ryan did great. He kept us in the game, even though he gave up a run,” Hernandez noted. “He gave us a chance to put some runs on the board, and we won.”

As the Dodgers continue their season, Hernandez’s clutch performances and steady presence at the plate are invaluable. His ability to rise to the occasion in critical moments is a testament to his skill and experience, making him a key player for the team’s success.
