LOS ANGELES, CA — After his stellar seven-inning performance against the Pirates, Tyler Glasnow reflected on what worked well during his outing. “The slider and curveball mix were better,” Glasnow noted, adding that while his fastball wasn’t perfect, he effectively relied on his off-speed pitches.
Glasnow expressed satisfaction with his ability to pitch deep into the game, especially given the team’s need for bullpen support. “It’s great to come out and get the sweep and give the bullpen a blow,” he said. Glasnow emphasized the importance of getting ahead in counts and credited his slider for helping keep his pitch count low.
Reflecting on his mechanics, Glasnow mentioned that he felt more consistent as the game progressed, particularly from the fourth inning onward. “In terms of my consistency mechanically, it got a bit better,” he shared.
The weekend was special for Glasnow, who grew up in Southern California, as he had the chance to see some legendary players. “It was cool seeing Kemp walk through here,” he said, recalling how he watched Matt Kemp play as a kid.
Overall, Glasnow was pleased with the team’s sweep and the momentum they’re building as they head into their next series.
