Dodgers Interview: Tyler Glasnow Updates Dodgers Fans on Rehab Progress
“I Feel Really, Really Good”

LOS ANGELES — Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow shared an encouraging update on his recovery during a recent interview, assuring fans that his shoulder is no longer an issue and that he’s feeling strong as he continues his throwing program.
“My shoulder’s totally fine,” Glasnow said. “I haven’t felt it since I started throwing. It really was just a precaution. I feel good. Really good.”
After hitting the injured list last month with what the team called “minor inflammation,” Glasnow made it clear that the decision to pause was all about playing the long game. If it had been the postseason, he implied, he likely wouldn’t have missed any time at all.
“If this was [the] postseason, no one would know about it,” he said. “We really need to think about the playoffs.”
Tweaking Mechanics, Not Overhauling
The 6’8” right-hander, known for his electric stuff and towering presence on the mound, explained that much of his focus during rehab has been on refining his delivery without overcomplicating things. Glasnow previously attempted a series of mechanical changes—adjusting his spine angle and stride—but admits those tweaks may have contributed to his shoulder discomfort.
“I think I made so many changes that they kind of snowballed,” he said. “It was a change for health, but at the same time, performance went down because it was such a foreign feeling. Command wasn’t good. Velo was down. I was just late on everything.”
Now, Glasnow is returning to a more natural approach.
“It’s just about being athletic and trusting my natural throw,” he said. “The adjustments now… it just seems to be on time a lot more, and there’s not so much stress.”
A Bullpen-by-Bullpen Approach
Glasnow emphasized that his recovery is being taken day-by-day. He has already resumed throwing off a mound and expects to face live hitters soon.
“I’m going on the mound this week… maybe Friday or Saturday,” he said. “I might play catch off the mound tomorrow. Just taking it bullpen by bullpen and see what it is.”
While he couldn’t give a timeline for a return to game action, he made one thing clear: “I want to be here for the playoffs.”
Managing Expectations
When asked whether it’s realistic for the Dodgers to expect him and fellow injured starter Blake Snell to return at full strength close to the postseason, Glasnow said he understands the concern—but remains confident.
“I’ll have time,” he said. “I’m not going to come back late-late. We’re all on the same wavelength—get back as soon as possible, but in a healthy way.”
Throughout the interview, Glasnow projected calm and focus. While he’s naturally eager to return to competition, he’s prioritizing long-term health over short-term urgency.
“I just have to trust the professionals,” he said. “Do the buildup. Then get it going.”
Dodger fans will be hoping that Glasnow’s careful approach pays off down the stretch. With October in mind, the towering righty is trending in the right direction—and could become a pivotal weapon when the lights shine brightest.
