Dodgers Look to Mess with Texas in 2nd Round of Interleague Play

The Dodgers face the Texas Rangers as Big Sexy himself, Bartolo Colon, is set to take the mound for the Rangers in the Dodgers 2nd round of interleague play. The Rangers are in last place in the AL West at 27-41, 15.5 games behind the 1st place Seattle Mariners.

As of posting time, the Dodgers pitcher for Tuesday was TBD, (could this mean another bullpen game?)

The Dodgers pitching staff is still riddled with injuries, yet the latest unofficial word has Kenta Maeda starting Wednesday against Texas after a successful bullpen session Sunday.

The Dodgers won Sunday after another stellar outing from Ross Stripling (5-1, 1.65 ERA), taking 2 games and the series from Atlanta. Stripling continues to show the makings of an ace, dealing no walks and striking out six while taking a perfect game into the sixth.

The Dodgers are currently 33-23 and 3.0 games behind the 1st place Diamondbacks, who are 36-29 and have won eight of their last 10 outings. The D-backs erased a 5-run deficit against the Pirates Monday after Chris Owings was intentionally beaned by Joe Musgrove in the bottom of the 7th.

Game time Tuesday vs Texas is 7:10 pm, PST.

*UPDATE* Caleb Ferguson will be the starting pitcher for tonight’s game vs Texas.
