Dodgers News: Bo Bichette Confident for World Series Return

The Blue Jays could be getting a massive boost to their offense for the World Series

TORONTO—The 2025 World Series is less than a week away, with the Los Angeles Dodgers set to travel to Canada for Game One of the Fall Classic against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.

With their win in Game Seven of the American League Championship Series over the Seattle Mariners, the Blue Jays are heading back to the World Series after a thirty-two-year hiatus, and it looks like they’ll have some reinforcements.

Notably absent from the postseason was all-star shortstop Bo Bichette, who injured his left knee in early September during a home plate collision during a pivotal game against their American League East rival, the New York Yankees.

Before that injury, Bichette had been enjoying a nice bounce-back season before he was set to hit free agency, hitting .311/.357/.483 with 44 doubles, one triple, 18 home runs, and 94 RBIs in 139 games this season.

Well, during the Game Seven clinch celebration, Bo Bichette stated that he’ll be there for the World Series.

“I’ll be ready,” shortstop Bo Bichette said after his Blue Jays topped the Mariners, 4-3, to clinch their first trip to the Fall Classic since 1993. “I don’t know how they’ll use me, but I’ll be ready.”

Bichette tried to increase his activity after the American League Division Series but still seemed to feel discomfort. Consequently, he was not included in the ALCS roster.

“I probably felt comfortable enough to play about four days ago,” Bichette said Monday night.

Since he is absent this month, the Blue Jays have relied on Andrés Giménez playing shortstop. In the playoffs, the infielder has posted a batting line of .263/.317/.447 with two home runs over 11 games.

Bichette’s future role remains uncertain, but since his knee still causes issues with defense and base running, he will likely serve as the main designated hitter if active, which would then shift George Springer to the outfield.

Bichette is in his seventh season with the Blue Jays and has played a major role in defining their identity during this time.

The Blue Jays hoped that Bichette might return if they advanced far enough, and now he will have that chance on baseball’s biggest stage.
