The Dodgers announced on Wednesday afternoon that they have optioned Bobby Miller to Triple-A and have called up Ricky Vanasco from Oklahoma City.
This comes a day after Miller was rocked in his last start on Tuesday against the Phillies, only going four innings and allowing nine runs on 10 hits. The velocity was not present as it usually was and the command was poorly traced as well.
With only seven starts on his tenure this year, it is clear and cut that Miller is not hitting the stride that he achieved last year. In only 29 innings pitched this year, he has posted an 8.07 ERA / 27 K / 1.83 WHIP.
As a corresponding move, the Dodgers have called up Ricky Vanasco from OKC to take Miller’s spot in the rotation. In 23 games with Oklahoma, Vanasco has posted a 3.63 ERA in 22.1 innings pitched and a 1.75 WHIP.
Another tough move to the already wounded Dodgers rotation heading close to the all-star break.
