Dodgers News: Brock Stewart to Begin Rehab Assignment Today, Could Rejoin Team on Weekend

Stewart is scheduled to appear today and Thursday, and if all goes well, he could be activated off the IL this weekend

TACOMA, WA—As the Los Angeles Dodgers enter the final two-week stretch of the 2025 Major League Baseball season, their bullpen is finally starting to take shape as they draw closer to October.

Over the last several weeks, we’ve seen the return of Tanner Scott, Kirby Yates, Michael Kopech, and Alex Vesia. Now, they can add impact right-handed pitcher Brock Stewart to that list.

Despite being the Dodgers’ top trade deadline acquisition, Stewart has only appeared in a handful of games for Los Angeles. Shortly after being acquired, Stewart was placed on the 15-day injured list for right shoulder discomfort.

Initially, the team and Stewart thought his condition wasn’t too severe and it would lead to a relatively short time on the shelf.

Stewart was given multiple cortisone shots, which did not work as hoped. After taking a break from throwing and getting another set of injections, Stewart was finally pain-free and able to kickstart his throwing program.

After throwing a bullpen at Dodger Stadium last week and another live at-bat session over the weekend at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Stewart is now set to go on a short rehab assignment with the Triple-A OKC Comets.

That assignment will begin tonight in Tacoma with another appearance scheduled for Thursday, and if all goes well, Stewart could rejoin the Dodgers bullpen by the weekend.

Stewart’s upcoming return is expected to lift a bullpen that has faced inconsistency throughout this season.

The 33-year-old performed well in high-pressure situations with the Twins this season, especially against right-handed batters. The Dodgers are optimistic that Stewart can bring the same level of impact for them in the final stretch and during the postseason.
