Dodgers News: Chris Stratton Signed; Bobby Miller Optioned; J.P. Feyereisen DFA’d

QUEENS, NY—Prior to yesterday’s series finale loss to the New York Mets, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed veteran right-handed relief pitcher Chris Stratton to a league minimum deal.
To make room on the roster, the Dodgers DFA’d right-handed pitcher J.P. Feyereisen and optioned righty Bobby Miller to Triple-A OKC.
Stratton, 34, had a 7.94 ERA in seventeen innings for the Royals’ bullpen this year, which made it easy to DFA the righty once a roster crunch was necessary.
Stratton was due $4 million from the Royals this season, and with the release, they’ll be on the hook for that entire salary. Hence, the Dodgers were promoted just to sign the righty to a league minimum of $760 thousand.
After just a few weeks in the Dodgers organization, the reunion between J.P. Feyereisen and the Dodgers is over. The righty only posted a 13.50 ERA in two innings for the Dodgers this season. It’s the second time Feyereisen has been DFA’d this season, first by the Arizona Diamondbacks and now by the Dodgers.
Miller, 26, pitched just two innings for the Dodgers in the middle game of a three-game series after the Dodgers needed an extra arm in the bullpen after a late-inning win over the New York Mets in Game One.
