Dodgers News: Clayton Kershaw Emerges as Top Candidate for NBC’s MLB Coverage

We could still see Clayton Kershaw on our TV screens in 2026, just in a different way

LOS ANGELES, CA—The end of 2025 was more than just another year ending, as for the Los Angeles Dodgers, it also marked the final year of Hall of Fame-bound left-hander Clayton Kershaw’s playing career.

In September, during the last month of the 2025 regular season, Kershaw publicly announced before his final start at Dodger Stadium that 2025 would mark the end of his historic 18-year career, all spent with the Dodgers.

Kershaw, 37, concluded his career in a dream scenario: a World Series victory with the Dodgers, who defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games in the Fall Classic, earning him three career championships.

Leading up to the final days of his last regular season, Kershaw made it clear he wanted to spend more time at home with his wife, Ellen, and their now five children, even reportedly declining a role in the Dodgers’ front office.

According to The Athletic, NBC, which is now hosting “Sunday Night Baseball” and the first round of the MLB Postseason, is contemplating including Kershaw in its media team.

Kershaw, who retired after the Dodgers’ latest World Series title, would likely work select events if a deal comes to fruition, the sources said.

Kershaw is among several players and top media personalities NBC is looking to add to its broadcast network, including Jason Benetti and Kevin Brown.

There is also the possibility that Kershaw may be used only for local broadcasts, whether involving the Dodgers or his hometown of Dallas, Texas.
