LOS ANGELES, CA — Okay, kids, we have some clarity (finally) on when games will be at Dodger Stadium this fall. Until the Phillies dropped a game to the Nats earlier in the afternoon, the Dodgers had the possiblity of falling into the #2 seed. Now, we know that’s not going to happen. The Dodgers, with all their injuries and struggles during the season, are the team with the best record in baseball. And now, with that #1 seed secured throughout every round of the postseason, ticket buying possibilities come into clearer focus. Here’s what we know so far.

WILD CARD ROUND

Nothing to say about this round. The Dodgers have a bye. If you have a hankering for some live baseball, though, you can drive down the 5 Freeway and check out the Padres, who will be hosting the Wild Card series that the Dodgers will be most interested in. The Dodgers will play whoever wins this best-of-three series. The games will be played from Oct. 1-2, and if necessary on Oct. 3.

NLDS

With the Padres sweep of the Braves, the schedule is set. The Friars will pack their bags and head north where the Dodgers will host Game 1 on Saturday, October 5. The schedule for this five game series looks like this:

  • Saturday, Oct. 5: Game 1, Dodger Stadium
  • Sunday, Oct. 6: Game 2, Dodger Stadium
  • Tuesday, Oct. 8: Game 3, Petco Park, San Diego
  • Wednesday, Oct. 9: Game 4*, Petco Park, San Diego
  • Friday, Oct. 11: Game 5*, Dodger Stadium

*if necessary

Nice that all the LA-based games will be on the weekend. No need to create weird excuses to get out of work early.

NLCS

Things get a little more murky here because there is another side of the bracket to deal with, and many of those games will be played on the East Coast, which is having its adventures with weather these days. But if Mother Nature cooperates, here’s what we’d be looking at for the NLCS:

  • Sunday, Oct. 13: Game 1, Dodger Stadium
  • Monday, Oct. 14: Game 2, Dodger Stadium
  • Wednesday, Oct. 16: Game 3, TBD
  • Thursday, Oct. 17: Game 4, TBD
  • Friday, Oct. 18: Game 5*, TBD
  • Sunday, Oct. 20, Game 6* Dodger Stadium
  • Monday, Oct. 21 Game 7* Dodger Stadium

*if necessary

Once again, games in this series will be broadcast on one of the Fox Networks.

WORLD SERIES

I hate to even mention it for fearing of jinxing the whole thing, but if (big “if”) the Dodgers can survive the first two rounds of the playoffs, here’s how the Fall Classic schedule would look:

  • Friday, Oct. 25: Game 1, Dodger Stadium
  • Saturday, Oct. 26: Game 2, Dodger Stadium
  • Monday, Oct. 28: Game 3, TBD
  • Tuesday, Oct. 29: Game 4, TBD
  • Wednesday, Oct. 30: Game 5*, TBD
  • Friday, Nov. 1, Game 6* Dodger Stadium
  • Saturday, Nov. 2 Game 7* Dodger Stadium

*if necessary

Once again, games in this series will be broadcast on Fox with Friend of the Carne Asada Joe Davis doing the play-by-play. Again, this schedule shakes out pretty sweet for the Dodgers if they are lucky enough to get to the World Series. Fans will have all games on either Friday or Saturday night. Perfect for late night celebration parties.

But first things first. The Dodgers have to beat whoever comes out of San Diego with the Wild Card win.

Tickets for the first two rounds are already on sale. Tickets for the World Series haven’t been announced yet. You can go to mlb.com/dodgers and get more information on the ticket buying process.
