Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Says Brock Stewart Nearing Rehab Assignment

LOS ANGELES, CA—Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave a positive update on reliever Brock Stewart, who has been working his way back from injury.
“Did Brock Stewart throw a pen? He did. He did and came out of it well, so he should have a live [session] on Friday and then he should be going out on assignment,” Roberts said before Tuesday’s game.
The Dodgers bullpen has begun to get healthier in recent weeks, which Roberts admitted makes roster decisions tougher. “It does. Yeah. You know, obviously getting Alex back, having the conversation with Ben yesterday wasn’t fun for anyone. We’ve got Tommy coming back too and it starts to get tougher. But I think the thing is that we’ve all got to focus on winning baseball games, and that’s the guiding light for all of us.”
Since joining the Dodgers at the trade deadline, Stewart has appeared in 4 games, allowing 3 earned runs over 3.2 innings with 3 strikeouts and a 4.91 ERA. With the Twins earlier this season, he pitched in 39 games and carried a 2.38 ERA with 41 strikeouts across 31 innings.
The Dodgers are hoping his return will help stabilize the bullpen down the stretch as the team battles for playoff positioning.
