Dodgers News: Dodgers Activate Max Muncy Following Tommy Edman Injury

On Monday, the Dodgers activated third baseman Max Muncy from the 10-day injured list following the recent injury to infielder Tommy Edman.
Muncy had been sidelined since July 2 after a sliding collision while attempting to tag out Michael A. Taylor during a game against the White Sox. Since then, he has steadily progressed in his recovery and is now healthy enough to return to Major League action.
Before the injury, Muncy was arguably the Dodgers’ hottest hitter. In June, he slashed .333/.459/.722 with seven home runs, emerging as a key offensive force. His absence was deeply felt, as the Dodgers went 10–14 in July, their worst month of the season, highlighting the void left in the middle of the lineup.
As part of his rehab assignment, Muncy appeared in five games for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, beginning on July 29. He went 5-for-15 over that span, including a 3-for-3 performance with an RBI single, his most productive game of the stint.
With Edman’s return timeline still unclear, the Dodgers regain their everyday third baseman. Muncy’s return not only restores defensive stability at third base but also brings much-needed power and on-base production back into the heart of the order.
