Dodgers News: Dodgers Announce Signing of 22 International Free Agents

LOS ANGELES, CA—While much of the news late last night focused on the Los Angeles Dodgers signing top free agent Kyle Tucker to an extraordinary 4-year, $240 million contract, the team also revealed 22 new signings during the 2026 International Signing Period.

Overall, the Dodgers signed seven pitchers, five catchers, five infielders, and five outfielders at the start of the 2026 signing period. Four of these players were also listed among the Top 100 international prospects according to Baseball America. They had $6,679,200 to spend this year, having used nearly all their international funds last year to sign Roki Sasaki.

Among the 22 players, the Dodgers’ international roster is led by a Dominican Republic quartet, including outfielder Rubel Arias, shortstop Ezequiel Melburne, and infielders Ariel Reynoso and Jose Victorino.

Arias ranks as the No. 46 prospect according to Baseball America, characterized by a keen eye and a smooth left-handed swing. Melbourne is listed as the No. 67 international prospect by Baseball America.

This switch-hitting shortstop has a solid physical projection, capable of hitting from both sides of the plate and developing power from the right side.

Reynoso (No. 86) and Victorino (No. 93) complete the quartet, each demonstrating strong offensive skills and versatile infield abilities.

The Dodgers reached agreements with players from a total of nine countries, including 11 from Venezuela and four from the Dominican Republic.

An international player can sign with a Major League team from January 15th to December 15th. The player must be at least 16 years old at the time of signing and must turn 17 before September 1st of the next year.
