With the Roki Sasaki International signing sweepstakes over. The Dodgers had money left over after two trades to increase their funding to sign Sasaki and sign fifteen more IFA players.
The Dodgers traded 22-year-old OF Dylan Campbell who was a solid centerfielder with the Great Lake Loons to the Phillies for $750K-$1M in extra signing pool money. Outfielder prospect Arnaldo Lantigua was also traded to the Reds for undisclosed signing pool money.
The Dodgers had $5.1M when the International Free Agency signing started on the 15th of February. Sasaki signed for $6.5M so the Dodgers front office made another smart move by trading prospect players to get more IFA money.
The Dodgers are expected to finish up all their international signing today for a total of fifteen.
Panamanian LHP Adrian Torres was the first to sign after Sasaki for a bonus deal of $365K and $100K scholarship.
The Dodgers have also signed two more IFA players since last night. Venezuelan’s RHP Carols Ramirez and infielder Luis Tovar.
