Dodgers News: Dodgers Lose Michael Siani on Waivers as Yankees Scoop Up Outfielder
New York adds defensive-minded outfielder as Dodgers continue roster reshuffling after Tucker signing.

LOS ANGELES, CA—For the Los Angeles Dodgers to make room on their 40-man roster for the signing of four-time All-Star Kyle Tucker earlier this week, the team announced they had DFA’d defensive-first outfielder Mike Siani.
The Dodgers initially claimed Siani off waivers themselves from the Atlanta Braves in December and were viewed by many who follow the organization as possibly filling the role that Justin Dean fit last October.
In 160 career major league games with the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals from 2022-25, Siani slashed .221/.277/.270 and has a career 58 wRC+, but is one of the more well-regarded defensive players in the sport.
During the 2024 season, Siani posted a combined 16 OAA in center field and ranked in the 76th percentile in spring speed, but his lackluster performance at the plate kept him in the minor leagues for most of 2025.
However, Siani’s time in Dodger Blue was short, as the team had to cut ties with the outfielder in the wake of their signing of Kyle Tucker.
Now Siani will join the New York Yankees, who claimed him off waivers yesterday from Los Angeles.
