Dodgers News: Dodgers Reportedly In Agreement With Kenta Maeda
The Dodgers Winter Off Season has seemed to pick up over the last few days. First the team reported yesterday that they signed Free Agent LHP Scott Kazmir and today there is word that they are in agreement with RHP Kenta Maeda. Jon Heyman has just reported on Twitter that they are in agreement.

No word yet on any of the financial commitments but we will have them once available. UPDATE 1:
If it matters, heard guarantee on Maeda’s deal with #Dodgers is 8yrs at $25M, not $24M. Gambling on self with tons of performance bonuses — Joel Sherman (@Joelsherman1) January 2, 2016
UPDATE: 2
The Dodgers are having a press conference tomorrow and its believed to be to announce the signing of Kenta Maeda. The release did not specify who it was for, only to announce a new member of the organization. A big clue though that the conference might be for Maeda was that the second half of release was in Japanese.
It was also discovered that the delay in announcing the signing was because as you might of guessed some concern with his medicals.
Source says #Dodgers-Kenta Maeda deal is taking a while because of concerns over his elbow. Expected to be official in next day or 2.

So when you break it down and see the length of deal 8 years as its been reported for 25 million and a ton of incentives, it makes sense.
#Dodgers saw lots of physical red flags (elbow) which is why deal is 8 yrs, $25M with $10M annually in performance bonuses for GS etc — Joel Sherman (@Joelsherman1) January 6, 2016
Whatever physical red flags, Maeda has pitched a lot and well in Japan and if he does that here will make about $13M annually
