Dodgers News: Dodgers Secure 26th National League Pennant in Franchise History

With tonight's win, the Dodgers are going to the World Series and have picked up their 26th NL Pennant

LOS ANGELES, CA—The Los Angeles Dodgers are champions of the National League and will head to the Fall Classic for the second consecutive season and look to become the first team in 25 years to repeat as champions.

With the sweep over the No. 1-seeded Milwaukee Brewers, the Dodgers not only dominated the National League Championship Series but also secured their first four-game sweep in the series in franchise history, with their other opportunity coming during the 2017 season, where they beat the Chicago Cubs in five games despite also taking a 3-0 lead.

This marks the 14th NL championship for the Los Angeles franchise. By winning Game Four, the Dodgers secured the Pennant at Dodger Stadium for the second consecutive year.

The Dodgers’ upcoming challenge is a World Series against either the Seattle Mariners or the Toronto Blue Jays.

Since 1969, when MLB established the League Championship Series as part of the postseason, the Dodgers have appeared in the NLCS 17 times. This is the most by any team in NL history and the second most overall, behind the New York Yankees with 19 appearances.

The Dodgers reached the NLCS for the eighth time in the past 13 seasons (2013, 2016-2018, 2020-2021, 2024-2025).

The run is also capped off by a run of 12 National League West titles over the last 13 seasons, while also making it to the dance in October every year since 2013.

This October, despite winning the NL West, the team finished as the No. 3 seed in the National League and were forced to play the best-of-three Wild Card round, where they would win in two games over the Cincinnati Reds.

Next, they’d travel to Philadelphia to face the No. 2-seeded Phillies, where they’d win in four games in the best-of-five National League Division Series.

Finally, they’d sweep the No. 1-seeded Milwaukee Brewers in the best-of-seven National League Championship Series to clinch their second straight World Series appearance.
