Dodgers News: Dodgers Sign Lou Trivino to Minor League Deal

PHOENIX— The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed right-handed pitcher Lou Trivino to a minor league deal, per Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors.

Trivino, 33, was most recently DFA’d by the San Francisco Giants and only remained on the open market for a few hours after electing free agency.

The veteran righty inked a minor league deal with the Giants during the offseason, and after an impressive spring performance, he earned a spot on the 2025 Opening Day roster.

However, unfortunately for Trivino, his Cactus League numbers did not translate to the regular season, as he posted a 5.84 ERA over 12.1 innings out of the Giants’ bullpen.

Trivinio missed all of last season undergoing Tommy John surgery, but prior to that, he posted a 3.86 ERA in 284.2 innings with the Oakland A’s and the New York Yankees from 2018 until 2022.

With thirteen pitchers on the injured list this season and an already overworked bullpen, Trivino adds some depth to the Dodgers’ roster.

Los Angeles has already made multiple moves in the trade and free agent market, bringing in J.P. Feyereisen and trading for St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Ryan Loutos.

Trivino’s role is to be determined, but it’s likely to add insurance for the Dodgers’ pitching staff, and it could also be a fun project to work on.
