Former Dodgers outfielder Eddie Rosario has found a new home by signing with the Atlanta Braves after recently being designated for assignment and opting for free agency.
Rosario’s time with the Dodgers was brief. He signed with the team back in February under a minor league contract that included a non-roster invite to Spring Training.
Rosario joined the team during their road trip to Texas. He appeared in four at-bats and tallied one hit in his final game while filling in for Shohei Ohtani, who was placed on the paternity list.
Before his short major league stint, Rosario was a standout performer with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He posted an impressive .339 batting average, a .406 on-base percentage, and a strong .948 OPS, establishing himself as a key piece in the Comets’ lineup.
Now, Rosario joins an Atlanta Braves team that is struggling to find its footing. The Braves currently sit fourth in the National League East, trailing the Nationals, Phillies, and Mets.
Rosario is expected to fill the void in Atlanta’s outfield by replacing Jarred Kelenic, who is being sent down to the Braves’ Triple-A affiliate.
