ARLINGTON — Prior to yesterday’s 3-0 win over the Texas Rangers, the Los Angeles Dodgers transferred young right-handed pitcher Edgardo Henriquez to the 60-day injured list to make room on the 40-man roster for veteran outfielder Eddie Rosario.

Henriquez, 22, was one of nine pitchers to begin the 2025 Major League Baseball regular season on the injured list after fracturing his left foot in spring training.

Per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, the only bit of clarity about the injury was that it was a “mishap” away from the field, but the Dodgers or Henriquez has shared no other details.

Henriquez quickly climbed the minor league ladder last season, posting a combined 1-2 record with a 2.72 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while collecting eighty-eight strikeouts in fifty-three innings over forty-three games.

That dominance earned Henriquez a promotion to the Major League level, where he would join the Dodgers in late September and play a role in the Dodgers bullpen that October.

After the conclusion of the 2024 season, Henriquez was expected to be part of the Dodgers’ bullpen plans for the following year, but after his injury, those plans were shelved.

Henriquez joins fellow pitchers Clayton Kershaw, Emmet Sheehan, Kyle Hurt, and River Ryan on the Dodgers 60-day injured list and is expected to rejoin the team at some point this summer.

With the move, the Dodgers had an open space on the 40-man roster, which they used to add veteran outfielder Eddie Rosario. Rosario is expected to remain with the team during their three-game series in Arlington, Texas, while Shohei Ohtani is on paternity leave.
