Dodgers News: Every Dodgers Player Set to Represent Their Country in the 2026 WBC
Tracking all Los Angeles Dodgers representing their nations in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

LOS ANGELES, CA—With the start of the 2026 Major League Baseball season right around the corner, with spring training set to begin next week, so too is the start of the upcoming 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Yesterday, the official rosters for all 20 countries participating in the international tournament were announced, and those rosters included several members of the back-to-back World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Overall, the Dodgers are expected to have five participants in the WBC, headlined by two-way superstar and four-time MVP award winner Shohei Ohtani, who will represent Team Japan.
Also joining Ohtani in Japan’s quest to repeat as WBC champions is right-hander and 2025 World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto. However, second-year pro Roki Sasaki will remain at Camelback Ranch to prepare for the 2026 regular season at what seems to be the Dodgers’ decision.
Fan-favorite utility infielder Hyeseong Kim is also set to rejoin Team Korea in the upcoming WBC, along with newly acquired right-hander Edwin Díaz, who is joining a shattered Team Puerto Rico roster.
Rounding out the list for Major League players on the Dodgers playing in the WBC is All-Star catcher Will Smith, who will share the backstop with 2025 American League MVP runner-up Cal Raleigh.
An honorable mention is veteran left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who announced his retirement from baseball last September and closed out his storybook Hall of Fame 18-year career as a three-time World Series champion.
Kershaw, 37, was set to participate during the 2023 WBC but, like so many players this year, had issues getting insured and was forced to drop out.
In the Dodgers’ minor league system, two players are participating in the event: young infielder Jake Gelof, who will represent Team Israel, and pitcher Shawndrick Oduber, who will represent Team Netherlands.
