With the conclusion of the 2024 Major League Baseball season after the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in six games of the Fall Classic, it is offically award season.
Yesterday, the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards winners were announced, and the two Los Angeles Dodgers nominees, Kiké Hernández (utility) and Will Smith (catcher), came up just short.
However, today, Major League Baseball announced the finalist for the 2024 Silver Slugger Award, which includes five Los Angeles Dodgers players.
- First Base: Freddie Freeman (.282/.378/.476, .854 OPS)
- Outfield: Teoscar Hernández (.272/.339/.501, .840 OPS)
- Catcher: Will Smith (.248/.327/.433, .760 OPS)
- Utility: Mookie Betts (.289/.372/.491, .863 OPS)
- Desginated Hitter: Shohei Ohtani (.310/.390/.646, 1.036 OPS)
The award winners will be announced on November 12th on MLB Network, and we should see more finalists announced for the Most Valuable Player Award and Cy Young, so make sure to check back for more updates.
