Dodgers News: Hisashi Iwakuma Re-Signs With Seattle Mariners after Failed Physical With Dodgers
Well you can not say this comes as a complete shock, but Hisashi Iwakuma has re-signed with the Seattle Mariners. This comes after reports this morning that he failed his physical with the Dodgers. This just adds to the frustrating winter the Dodgers have had. Iwakuma who had signed a three year deal worth $45 Million with the Dodgers two weeks ago and no announcement had been made by the team. We learned today why that was. There was still speculation that a deal could be worked out as mentioned by Dylan Hernandez.
“Inaccurate” to say #Dodgers are out on Iwakuma, I’m told. Perhaps they’re reworking the contract?

As the day went on though the deal fell apart and the Mariners re-started the conversation with Iwakuma and were able to bring him back to the team. Jerry Dipoto made the announcement during a Mariners Holiday Party.

So where does that leave the Dodgers remains to be seen. The available starters that are still available that they can target Kenta Maeda, Mike Leake, Yovani Gallardo and Scott Kazmir. They can also pursue trades such as the trade that was discussed today with the Tampa Bay Rays involving Jake Odorizzi. He is 26 and still has four years of control, so its safe to say the Rays would want a nice return for him which is something the Dodgers would be able to provide.
It is still only mid December but the Dodgers really need for some things to start going their way as they try and fill out the 2016 rotation.
