LOS ANGELES— Prior to the start of the Los Angeles Dodgers six-game homestand, the team announced that they had optioned catcher Hunter Feduccia back to Triple-A OKC.

The move is unsurprising as the Dodgers are expected to activate all-star first baseman Freddie Freeman off the 10-day Injured List tomorrow before the start of their three-game series against the Chicago Cubs.

Feduccia, 27, got minimal playing time in his short six-game stint with the Major League club. He got just two at-bats and played a few defensive innings at first base in Tuesday’s blowout loss to the Washington Nationals.

Overall, Feduccia will return to Triple-A OKC, where he started the season hot, hitting .357/.526/.634 and a 1.169 OPS in fourteen at-bats, but due to the overwhelming depth at catcher and first base, he has no spot on the Dodgers 26-man roster.
