Dodgers News: J.P. Feyereisen Recalled from Triple-A, Yoendrys Gómez DFA’d

MIAMI— The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-handed pitcher J.P. Feyereisen from Triple-A OKC for today’s bullpen game. In order to make room on the 26-man roster, the Dodgers DFA’d Yoendrys Gómez.

The Dodgers reacquired Feyereisen last week after claiming the righty off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Feyereisen missed the entire 2023 season due to recovery from shoulder surgery, but would make the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster last season, including the 31-player travel roster for the Seoul Series.

However, the results were bleak for Feyereisen, who posted a 0-1 record and 8.18 ERA with the Dodgers before being sent to the minors. Even with the Triple-A OKC Baseball Club (OKC Comets), Feyereisen only posted a 5.40 ERA, leading the Dodgers to outright the righty off the 40-man roster last summer.

Feyereisen signed a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks in March and has appeared in two innings for the Snakes this season with an ERA of nine.

Feyereisen’s promotion is unsurprising given the Dodgers’ shortage of arms in the starting rotation, forcing the team to turn to reliever Ben Casparius in bulk in yesterday’s 7-4 win over the Miami Marlins. However, with the team throwing another bullpen game tomorrow, they’ll need a few fresh arms.

Yoendrys Gómez, 25, was acquired off waivers from the New York Yankees in April but had mixed results, posting a 14.54 ERA in 4.1 innings with Los Angeles.
