Dodgers News: James Outman with Team; No Move Announced Yet

LOS ANGELES, CA—As the Los Angeles Dodgers prepare to play the final game of this four-game weekday series against the New York Mets, outfielder James Outman appears to be with the team.

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic and other media members reported that Outman has a locker inside the Dodgers clubhouse. The team has not officially announced any move yet.

Yesterday, Dodgers minor league outfielder Esteury Ruiz joined the team as taxi in case utilityman Tommy Edman was prepared to join the 10-day injured list after tweaking the same ankle he injured in May. However, Edman appears to be fine and is in the lineup for today’s game, playing second base.

Another option could be Korean utilityman Hyeseong Kim. He fouled a ball off his leg on Tuesday and has been absent in back-to-back games, but today’s game was expected with lefty David Peterson on the mound for the Mets.

Regardless, Outman has not produced much in his first two stints with the Major League club this season, hitting .125/.222/.375 with a .597 OPS and a whopping thirteen strikeouts in twenty-four at-bats.

Still, Outman provides the Dodgers with a left-handed hitting option on the bench and plays elite defense in center field, so we will see what the move is sooner rather than later.
