WASHINGTON D.C. — The Los Angeles Dodgers have offically recalled left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski from Triple-A OKC to pitch tonight’s game against the Washington Nationals.
To make room on the active roster, the Dodgers optioned right-handed pitcher Matt Sauer, as Dave Roberts stated yesterday would be the case.
Wrobleski, 24, spent some time in the Dodgers’ starting rotation and bullpen last summer, pitching to a 1-2 record and a 5.70 ERA in 36.1 innings.
The Dodgers needed a starter for tonight’s game after left-handed pitcher Blake Snell was placed on the 15-day Injured List retroactively on April 3rd due to left-shoulder inflammation.
Sauer pitched in yesterday’s 6-4 loss, going 1.2 inning, allowing three hits and one run, and won’t be eligible to return to the Major League team until after fifteen days unless it’s due to an injury.
