Dodgers News: Kiké Hernández Stands Alone in Dodgers All-Time Postseason Games Played
Kiké Hernández is your new all-time games played leader in Dodgers history

TORONTO—The Los Angeles Dodgers got a much-needed Game Two win of the 2025 World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays to even up the series, thanks to a second consecutive game by right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but it was also a historic day for veteran utilityman Kiké Hernández.
With yesterday’s start in left field, Hernández is now the new all-time Dodgers postseason games played leader, after tying the record in Game One with fan-favorite Justin Turner.
Hernández has dedicated most of his career to the Dodgers since 2015. During this period, he has participated in all five of their World Series appearances over the past nine seasons.
Additionally, Hernández’s nine postseason appearances with L.A. are tied for second-most in franchise history, alongside Turner and Kenley Jansen. The record for most postseason trips is held by Clayton Kershaw with 13.
Hernández has earned a reputation as a player who excels in October. He showed this not only with the Dodgers but also during his single postseason with the Boston Red Sox in 2021.
Adding his Red Sox postseason games, Hernández has a total of 11. That period marked his most successful playoff performance, during which he hit .408/.423/.837 with four doubles, a triple, five homers, nine RBIs, and nine runs.
Throughout his Dodgers postseason career, Hernández posted a batting average of .253/.341/.433, hitting seven doubles, 10 home runs, and 30 RBIs. In Game One, he went 1-for-4 with an RBI single. Hernández is fifth in Dodgers postseason home runs and seventh in RBIs all-time.
When Hernández’s record was mentioned before the Fall Classic, he was surprised, emotional, and felt humbled by what he had contributed to the situation.
“Humbled, fortunate,” he said when told he will be one behind Justin Turner for most postseason games in Dodgers history. “This is not just any franchise. This is the LA Dodgers. They’ve been around a long time, and they have a lot of history. For a guy like me from Puerto Rico, who kind of swam against the current my entire life, to be in this position is pretty special.”
“I haven’t wanted to reflect too much because there will be a time for that once I’m done playing,” Hernández continued. “As cool as that is, and I’ll take that to the grave with me, I’m focused on today. It would be cool if my name is up there with the most Dodger World Series ever. Creeping up on playing the most playoff games as a Dodger is something I never dreamed of. I wasn’t really aware of it until you said it.”
Hernández figures to extend that record with the Dodgers evening the series; it’ll be at least three more games, and there’s also the possibility of the Dodgers re-signing the soon-to-be free agent this winter.
