Dodgers News: Kopech and Yates Return, But Gonsolin’s Elbow Sidelines Him Again

The Dodgers made a series of pitching moves on Saturday, adjusting both the bullpen and the rotation ahead of a crucial stretch in June.

Right-handers Michael Kopech and Kirby Yates were activated from the injured list, bringing back two veteran arms into the mix. Kopech adds depth, while Yates is expected to rejoin the backend of the bullpen.

To create roster space, the team designated Chris Stratton for assignment. Stratton, who joined the club after being claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Royals on May 25, struggled to find consistency in his outings and has now been removed from the 40-man roster.

Meanwhile, Tony Gonsolin was placed on the injured list due to right elbow discomfort, a concerning sign for a pitcher still working his way back after missing all of 2024 following Tommy John surgery. It’s uncertain how long he will be sidelined.

As the Dodgers continue to manage injuries and adjust their staff, all eyes will be on Kopech and Yates’ performances and whether Gonsolin’s setback lingers deeper into the season.
