Dodgers News: Kyle Karros Shares the Family Dream

LOS ANGELES, CA—Baseball has always been in the Karros family, and Rockies rookie third baseman Kyle Karros is carrying that tradition forward. His dad, Eric Karros, made a name for himself with the Dodgers and now calls games in the broadcast booth. His brother, Jared, is a pitching prospect in the Dodgers system, currently sidelined after Tommy John surgery.
When asked about the family’s ultimate baseball dream, Kyle didn’t hesitate.
“No doubt. I mean, the dream is my brother pitching, me hitting, my dad calling the game,” he said with a grin. “If that happens, that’ll be an unreal moment for us, our family. That’s looking down the road. Obviously, you take it one day at a time. He needs to get healthy. I need to keep doing my thing here. My dad needs to keep calling games well. But that’s the dream. That’ll be a cool moment.”
It’s a snapshot of what baseball is all about — more than stats and standings, it’s family connections, shared dreams, and the hope that someday those paths all cross under the big-league lights.
Karros was drafted by the Rockies in 2023, taken in the 5th round with the 145th overall pick. He wasted little time making his mark in the majors, hitting his first career home run on August 19, 2025 — fittingly against the Dodgers, the team where his dad built his legacy.
