LOS ANGELES, CA — The 11th annual Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) Sunset Run will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, offering Dodger fans and community members the opportunity to engage in health and wellness activities at the iconic Dodger Stadium. Presented by UCLA Health and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the event returns in a new one-day format, featuring a Health + Wellness Expo, a 5K and 10K race, a Kids Fun Run, and Yoga on the Field.

Nearly 30,000 fans and participants are expected to attend this year’s run, including 2,400 youth and nonprofit participants, such as 1,300 young women from Students Run LA (SRLA) and youth from Dodgers Dreamteam. SRLA will use the 5K race to help its middle and high school students train for the Los Angeles Marathon, promoting physical activity, goal-setting, and character development. The Sunset Run has become an annual highlight for Dodger fans, blending fitness, community spirit, and support for LADF’s charitable initiatives.

Nichol Whiteman, CEO of LADF, emphasized the importance of the event to the foundation’s mission: “For the last 11 years, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Sunset Run has been at the heart of Dodger fandom, advancing our mission to tackle the more pressing problems Angelenos face. Every registration helps us create lasting change in our city, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”

The net proceeds from the event will support LADF’s programs that aim to level the playing field for underserved youth in Los Angeles, helping them thrive through education, health care, and social justice initiatives. LADF has been a powerful force for good in the community, with investments of over $60 million in programs and grants, positively impacting more than 10 million youth in the region.

In addition to the races, participants and spectators can take in the stunning sunset views of downtown Los Angeles and enjoy live entertainment from local school bands and DJs. A post-race cool-down lap on the Dodger Stadium warning track will allow runners to finish their day with a memorable experience. Special appearances by Dodger alumni will give participants a chance to meet their favorite players, snap photos, and celebrate their achievements.

Each registered runner will receive a Dodgers 2024 tech shirt, a finisher’s medal, a race bib with chip timing, and a limited edition Joe Kelly Run bobblehead. Additionally, a Beer Garden, presented by Golden Road Brewing, will be available for runners 21 and older, offering a fun way to cap off the event.

The 2024 Health + Wellness Expo will feature vendors such as UCLA Health, LADWP, Health-Ade Kombucha, Coaches Oats, and many more, showcasing products and services that promote healthy living. The event aims to bring the community together in support of physical fitness and well-being while raising funds for important causes.

Race packet pickup begins at 3:00 p.m. on race day, and the event will continue into the evening with the 5K race starting at 5:00 p.m. and the 10K at 7:30 p.m. Limited spots are still available for registration through the Dodgers’ official website, ensuring that those who wish to participate still have a chance to join in on the fun while supporting the foundation’s impactful work.
