Dodgers News: Landon Knack Recalled; J.P. Feyereisen Optioned; Matt Sauer with Team in Miami

MIAMI—The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-handed pitcher Landon Knack from Triple-A OKC for today’s game against the Miami Marlins.

In order to make room on the 26-man roster, the Dodgers optioned right-handed relief pitcher J.P. Feyereisen.

Knack, 27, posted a 7.27 ERA across 8.2 innings for the Dodgers this season, including two starts in April, to which the righty allowed seven runs across 6.2 innings. In four games in Triple-A, Knack has a 3.98 ERA in 20.1 innings pitched with nineteen strikeouts and a 1.18 WHIP.

The righty will make a traditional start with the Dodgers, hoping to give their bullpen some rest after pitching the most innings in Major League Baseball this season.

Feyereisen, 32, was acquired off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks last week and made one appearance so far with the Dodgers this season in yesterday’s 10-inning loss to the Miami Marlins.

Also, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, right-handed pitcher Matt Sauer is also with the team in Miami today, but no corresponding move has been made.

Sauer, 26, has been impressive for the Dodgers this season. In his three previous stints with the Major League team, he has a 2.70 ERA in 6.2 innings.

Sauer’s last outing was equally impressive. The righty tossed five innings of one-run ball against the Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium on April 29th.

With less than fifteen days from that appearance, Sauer can only be recalled and activated if it replaces an injured player.
